learning how to make a palm frond fish

Sitting quietly in a corner near the main building at The Place of Refuge, was an aged man making palm frond fish and woven baskets. He asked if we wish to learn how to make them and Joanne quickly volunteered. He was so very patient and she made two while spectators watched. He had quite a sense of humour quipping about patience and learning a new craft. He seemed a natural born teacher. Aren't these great. Joanne has her two sitting in the living room - an example of Hawaiian crafting with natural materials.
