Here and there in Kona town

This morning the tech came to look at our issue with the wifi!  It turns out the modem died.  The tech, a young and really fun and interesting Hawaiian gal replaced and got everything talking to one another and we are back in the land of wifi!

Neither of us had breakfast today, waiting on wifi lady to arrive so once she completed her task we decided we'd go to town for lunch.  Parked across the water….er, anchored I guess the proper terminology, was the Royal Princess almost directly across from where we sat at open air dining by the water!  Love that.

Lunch done with we went back to the little market in the bush, I do not remember its name, off Ali'i Drive.  I wanted to pick up a couple things.  Whilst there, we stopped at a booth where a really lovely talkative Japanese gal works.  Turns out she and her honey (her term) share the load and ownership.   He was there yesterday.  She is a wee bit of a thing and honey is a big tall guy.  She told us today they are going to Ireland soon, so perhaps honey is Irish! Love chatting with her and we bought a few treasures from her today.  She thanked us so delightfully for buying from her.

We have been looking for a particular kind of macadamia nuts for a friend and were referred up to the KTA grocery store or Longs Drugs.  No siree, cannot find the type she requested.  Do you know the macs come in  many many different flavours and salts and other coatings such as chocolate.  Hey, there's even Spam flavour! 😉. Since we didn't find what we were looking for we opted for a small sundae instead.  Our dessert for the day.

Where we are staying, at White Sands Village condos, we have a swimming pool.  It's wonderful, at least I thought it was until Barbs daughter said it was phallic!  So now we just call it the penis pool!  Who knew?  Obviously Shannon noticed….. 🤭

In the evening after dinner, we sit outside on the patio and Barb has taught me how to play a game of cards called Rummy.  I'm kinda not not good at cards!!!  This has become very very apparent because she skunks me every single game!  So later we will likely have another three games.  (don't tell her, but I let her win so she doesn't pout all night)  I will let her beat me again!  It's not easy being a martyr at cards!  Also, she keeps the lights really low so it's hard to see when I inadvertently toss the wild cards and she laughs gleefully and adds on another 20 points to my ever growing count.  Low score wins…..at least that's what she tells me!  What do you think?  🧐

Last evening we went to the Luau at Royal Kona.  Once we found a table a couple of people with a teen daughter in tow came and asked if this was the rowdy table.  Barb said it is if you are Canadian.  They are from Leduc, Alberta!! We had a fun time and the food was good.  I kind of like the poi, I mix it with the Kahlua pork and you can't really tell!  Here's a few pix from the Luau.  Neither of us got good shots of the fire dancer but he was super good!

This Luau is called Voyagers of the Pacific and tells the story of the Polynesian Islands through song and dance.   Polynesian islands such as Hawaii, Tahiti,  Samoa, Tonga, and Aotearoa (New Zealand). It's all great fun!

Well, it's looking like card playing time, I have to polish up my dealing and playing hand in readiness to let Barb win again.  Gotta keep her in good spirits or she might pout!  😉
