Sydney waterfront

Today my friend Diana who lives here in Sydney met up with me for a walkabout and lunch. We walked to Darling Harbour which is currently under huge renovation. The convention centre has been torn down, the mono rail is gone! New buildings and fancy casino going up, people places and lots of wide walkways. Back in the 80's I believe, my friend Nicci who I will be visiting in Adelaide along with her husband, was one if the original designers of Darling Harbour.

We walked all the way from Darling Harbour, around to Sydney docks, Under Sydney Bridge, grabbed a nice lunch on the patio of the museum, then carried on, walking around to the Botanical Garden and Mrs. McQuarries chair site. We stopped for afternoon tea at the Botanical Gardens and then walked up McQuarrie Street and back to my hotel. Diana left to go back to Darling Harbour to catch her ferry back up the Parramatta River at 3:30. and home. What a great visit, we had not connected in 21 years. Last time we saw each other she had long dark brown hair, and I had blonde! Now we are both grey and celebrating 70 years. But who is counting? Age means little to those of us who like to travel and explore. The photos were from our walkabout on the waterfront today. If you look closely at the bridge photos you may be able to see the people up there who climb the bridge. I can guarantee you not one of them would be me! 🙄

Is the bridge you can walk on top of if you are brave enough?? Gail and Garry did that walk when they were there.

Yes, many people do the bridge climb. Expensive and not for the faint hearted! I don't want nor need to do it because I can visualize what it Wouk be like.
