Universal at Orlando
Monday, March 27th was travel day. We arrived at our rental house in the dark and quickly sorted out the six bedrooms! Tuesday morning arrived....late morning, as we were all exhausted after our 3 am morning call to get to our respective airports for 4! We mainly spent the day shopping for food and getting unpacked and organized.
Wednesday, yesterday, we were up and out the door just before 8 and headed to Universal. What a great fun day. Basically we did the rides throughout the park, although the "Hulk" roller coaster was not on my agenda, my granddaughter Cass, who is 11 loved it and would have gone again! The two boys, Jared and Jacob went off on their own for a bit, but we all met for late lunch at two, then again for 7:30 when it was time to leave. The rides were awesome, the 3D. Effects with the glasses brought the video to life! In King Kong, you actually felt like the T Rex was coming right into your face and the gigantic gorilla....you could almost feel his breath as you passed by him.....right beside you as he rested and breathed, just as if he was going to reach out and grab you. My favourite was the Minions ride, it was great fun.
Personally, I have been enchanted with Harry Potter since the first book came out so getting to see the Hogwarts and Harry Potter World has been a dream. Harry Potter World is in two sections, Hogwarts and Hogsmead, if memory serves. You can walk or travel by Hogwarts Express from platform 9 3/4 o each part of it. It is separated by "London". Each cabin on the Hogwarts Express holds 8 people, (our group) and once the train starts you get a view out of the window of the countryside with the Centaurs, someone flying by other scenes and then Hagrid at the stop. All 3D video was just awesome. On the other windows from the hallway to enter the cabins you see shadows of people walking by and hear some brief discussion. All in all, good entertainment.
