The end of our vacation on Kauai
It is our last day in Kauai tomorrow. The time seems to have flown by but we certainly went to a lot of different places (some twice, from different directions......that déjà vu feeling kicks in) and we saw a lot and experienced the islands many delights including a luau, dinner theatre featuring the show South Pacific, the Beauty of Waimea canyon, the pretty little town of Hanalai and some of the historical stories and photos in various venues. We connected with other people here on vacation and experienced the antics of the chickens and roosters....everywhere!
Today we drove up to Wailua Falls, which is actually only 4 miles from Lihue. Another one of those twisty narrow roads, but we found it easily. The falls are said to be really spectacular after a good rain but they were still quite pretty today. The falls drop into a pool and fall 173 ft. The water then feeds into the Wailua River. Photos to follow in a separate post.
We were so lucky to find this place which is a 2 bed 2 bath condo, bottom floor, patio opens to a fantastic view of the ocean and right near the beach. We have not had anyone above us on the 2nd
floor so it's been very peaceful and quiet.....except when mr. Rooster starts cockadoodledooing in the middle of the night.
We have a red eye flight tomorrow night back home so we expect we will surface after a few days as we will likely be recovering from beach separation anxiety! Thanks for following along on my/our vacation.
